USC-CSO Conducts Orientation for School Organizations Conglomeration of Student Organizations Orientation
The University of San Carlos Conglomeration of Student Organizations (USC-CSO) held its orientation on November 24, 2018 at Room 268 of the Lawrence Bunzel of the Talamban Campus. There were 20 participants, including representatives from USC Pathways, Dynacom Society, Datalogics Society, USC-CpPE Council, Carolinian Physics Society, USC-IE Council, USC JFINEX, USC JJC, Chemical Engineering Society, USC Psychology Society, SBE Council, USC JPIA, USC-DHT SHOTS, and USC RCY College Council. Jyne Villarmino, the president of CSO, talked about how the organization was created to unite and represent all student associations; and that together, they will work hand in hand with the Supreme Student Council. CSO encourages all organizations to be active in helping and boosting actions for the betterment of the USC Society through varying enterprises.
One of the projects of USC SSC for the CSO is the Student Organization Subsidy. SO Subsidy aims to assist associations that need funding for an activity. Student organizations may submit their budget proposal according to their movement that would benefit the Carolinian Community as a whole. Furthermore, an organization could also tap into another organization when it is needed, so as to let each council practice their specific expertise not only limiting to their society but also to others.
USC Cebu Fuente Rotaract presented a project, “The 12 Days of Christmas”, that serves as an inspiration to the organizations who took part in the event. The 12 Days of Christmas is a project wherein 12 activities can help 12 beneficiaries from different walks of life: Vendors’ Day Out, Bookas Palad, Araw Para kay Lolo’t Lola, Santa is coming to Town, Wish upon a Card, Witness to the Word: The Christmas Story, Every Cent Counts, Parenting 101, Carolinian Serving and Connecting Lives, Islandspiration Version 2.0, and a Christmas Party.
CSO is expecting to collaborate with the different organizations for the promotion of goodwill activities in the near future.
