To celebrate the crowning of the USC Warriors by the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) as this year’s senior men’s basketball champions, Warrior’s Turf organized a parade from the Downtown to Talamban Campuses today. Following the parade were a lunch and a dinner for thanksgiving.today.
The program began in the morning in the Anselmo Bustos Gymnasium of the Downtown Campus with a parade carrying a convoy of the athletes, their supporters and their coaches to the Talamban Campus. Afterward, the attendees—, which included the deans of the university’s various schools, were accommodated at the School of Fine Arts and Design (SAFAD) for a brief program at noon.
Beginning the said program was a short video documenting the progress of the Warriors through not only the 2015 CESAFI season, but throughout the previous years as well. The thanksgiving lunch was celebrated afterward.
After this, Britt Reroma, the head coach of the Warriors, extended his gratitude to the Carolinian community for their support and expressed excitement and optimism for future seasons. The lunch attendees were then entertained by Mike Cadavero performing acoustic covers.
A celebratory mass was then held at the university chapel in the afternoon. Afterward, a thanksgiving dinner was held at the BIG Hotel in Mandaue City.
Although the victory of the Warriors was long overdue, it has inspired many to believe that it is far from the last.
